Owner, Sally Rissinger

Owner, Sally Rissinger, took over the business in 2004 and continually works to bring in new handcrafted items representing a larger spectrum of Indian nations not limited to the Southwest.

After her career in nursing and bereavement ended, Sally decided to purchase the shoppe after finding out the owner was retiring and putting the business up for sale. While she had never run a retail operation, Sally always had a deep appreciation of the Native American culture. That interest was heightened several years ago while she was on a trip to New Mexico & Arizona with a group from her church. They visited the church's missions and provided a day camp on the Navajo reservation.

Armed with enthusiasm and her husband's support, Sally took over the small shoppe and began expanding her inventory to include unique items she knew shoppers would love. She added a child-friendly area to entertain children while their parents browse the shoppe. She also offers free gift wrapping.

Patches - Night Watchman

In September 2011, Sally will be going to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota as a member of We're All God's Children. The purpose of the trip is to visit three schools on the reservation and screen vision of the students, staff, and the general public. They will then be fitted for eyeglasses provided by the Manheim Township Sunrise Lions Club.

Sally's cat Apache "Patches" graces the shoppe by greeting customers or just lounging around. Many customers stop by the store just to visit Patches -- he's become the highlight of the shopping center, though he's not for sale.
